SHALLOW & BEAST Recap, Survivor 50 Episode 11

Published: 2026-05-08

Double tribal sends Emily and Ozzy home; Jonathan inherits immunity after Tiffany's win is overturned and votes at both councils

TL;DR: Episode 11 runs two tribals on Day 21. The field splits 4 and 4, with Jonathan free to attend and vote at both. Tiffany finishes the immunity challenge first but production reverses the result on review; immunity passes to Jonathan. He posts +15.6 SHALLOW, the largest gain of the night. Emily is voted out in a revote after Rick plays a Hidden Idol on himself and Cirie's extra vote forces a 2-2 tie. Ozzy is voted out 4-1 at the second tribal with an unplayed idol in his pocket; his +78.4 SHALLOW season change is still the highest of any returning player on the cast. The active field is now seven players: Cirie, Joe, Rizo, Jonathan, Aubry, Rick, Tiffany.

Episode Summary: SurvivorElo Episode 11

Quick refresher: SHALLOW rates strategic positioning (voting correctly + outlasting). BEAST rates challenge performance. Both use Elo, so gains and losses depend on relative ratings. Full methodology at survivorelo.com.

Episode 11: What Happened

Nine players entered Day 21. Tiffany finished the immunity challenge first but the result was reviewed and overturned; production ruled her foot stayed on the plank when Jeff counted, which made her the technical first out after the transition. Immunity passed to Jonathan. The episode then split the field into two groups of four for simultaneous tribal councils, with Jonathan free to attend and vote at both.

At the first tribal, Tiffany, Rick, Emily, and Cirie attended with Jonathan visiting. Emily and Rick built a misdirection plan in which everyone would vote Rick while the real targets piled on Cirie; Rick would play his Hidden Idol on himself to nullify the cover votes. Rick played the idol; the votes for him were nullified. Cirie and Emily ended up tied 2-2 after Cirie used her extra vote against Emily. The revote sent Emily home; she became the sixth juror.

At the second tribal, Rizo, Ozzy, Aubry, and Joe attended with Jonathan visiting. Aubry consolidated the group around Ozzy as the boot. Ozzy carried a Hidden Idol into council and did not play it. He was voted out 4-1; he cast the lone vote for Aubry. He exits as the seventh juror.

Jonathan's Double-Tribal Sweep

Jonathan entered Episode 11 at 1598.6, A-tier, sixth among active SHALLOW. He left at 1614.2. His +15.6 is the largest SHALLOW gain in Episode 11. Immunity arrived through a production review rather than a clean win; the model credits him for the outlast and vote outcomes, not for how the necklace was awarded.

Metric Value
Pre-Episode 11 1598.6 (A)
Post-Episode 11 1614.2 (A)
Episode Change +15.6
Vote Wins 2W-0L (Emily, Ozzy)
Outlast Wins 2W-0L (Emily, Ozzy)
BEAST Change +50.2
Season Total +19.6

Jonathan is the only Episode 11 player with two vote wins and two outlast wins on the same boot night. The model registers him as the deciding correct vote at both tribals: the fifth vote against Emily on the revote, and the fourth vote against Ozzy. He earns gains at each tribal scaled to the rating of the player he beat, so the totals stack.

His US50 vote record now reads 10W-24L. He is the only active player with more career US50 wrong votes than right ones, and the only active player below 50% accuracy. The rating has moved anyway because the model weighs each matchup by the opponent's strength, not by ratio. Every vote Jonathan has cast since Episode 8's double boot has been correct: Rick at the Christian split, Stephenie last week, and Emily and Ozzy tonight.

The +50.2 BEAST gain on the immunity win is his career high in challenge Elo. He entered the challenge at 1515.4, mid-pack, and left at 1565.7, A-tier.

Emily's Tied Vote

Emily entered the episode at 1610.9, A-tier, fourth among active SHALLOW. She left at 1578.6. Her -32.3 is the smaller of the two boot losses tonight and the eleventh-largest of the season.

Metric Value
Pre-Episode 11 1610.9 (A)
Post-Episode 11 1578.6 (B)
Episode Change -32.3
Vote Losses 0W-4L (Tiffany, Rick, Cirie, Jonathan)
Outlast Losses 0W-4L (same four)
Season Total +29.8

The model treats the revote as the binding outcome. Emily voted Cirie at the initial vote and again at the revote; with the boot landing on Emily, both of her votes register as wrong. Four players cast correct votes against her and survived past her on the same night; Emily takes vote and outlast losses against each.

Her -32.3 is contained relative to other recent boots because she only lost matchups to four opponents, not to the full survivor field of eight or nine. The split tribal limits the outlast credit too; only the players physically present at her tribal count against her.

She crosses from A-tier into B-tier on exit. Her +29.8 season change is the third-best among eliminated players this season, behind Christian (+0.6) and Stephenie (-8.2). Emily ends with a 17W-12L US50 vote record, second among eliminated players behind Stephenie's 16W-13L.

Ozzy's Quiet Exit

Ozzy entered at 1567.3, the active +100 leader entering the episode. He left at 1540.0.

Metric Value
Pre-Episode 11 1567.3 (B)
Post-Episode 11 1540.0 (B)
Episode Change -27.3
Vote Losses 0W-4L (Rizo, Aubry, Joe, Jonathan)
Outlast Losses 0W-4L (same four)
Season Total +78.4

Ozzy was the lowest in rating at his tribal. The four correct voters each took 3.2 to 3.6 SHALLOW gains; the small per-opponent number reflects how close in rating Ozzy was to each of them. The aggregate -27.3 is the smaller of the two boot losses tonight despite Ozzy attending a tribal with five players.

His +78.4 season change holds as the largest of any returning player on the US50 cast. He entered US50 at 1461.6, the lowest of any returning player; he leaves at 1540.0 with a 16W-7L US50 vote record. The +100.3 threshold he held among active players entering the episode is now vacant; Joe sits at +83.8, the highest among active players.

The Active Field, Seven Players

Player Pre-Ep11 Post-Ep11 Ep11 Change Tribal Season Vote Record
Cirie 1746.0 (S) 1751.0 (S) +5.0 First (Emily) 18W-0L
Joe 1641.0 (A) 1647.3 (A) +6.3 Second (Ozzy) 15W-0L
Rizo 1629.2 (A) 1635.8 (A) +6.6 Second (Ozzy) 15W-0L
Jonathan 1598.6 (A) 1614.2 (A) +15.6 Both 10W-24L
Aubry 1603.2 (A) 1610.4 (A) +7.2 Second (Ozzy) 13W-0L
Rick 1560.9 (B) 1570.0 (B) +9.1 First (Emily) 11W-12L
Tiffany 1529.8 (B) 1539.7 (B) +9.9 First (Emily) 10W-15L

The seven survivors hold one S-tier (Cirie), four A-tier (Joe, Rizo, Jonathan, Aubry), and two B-tier (Rick, Tiffany). Four of the seven still hold perfect US50 vote records: Cirie 18W-0L, Joe 15W-0L, Rizo 15W-0L, and Aubry 13W-0L. Jonathan, Rick, and Tiffany are the three with wrong votes on their US50 line.

Cirie takes the smallest gain because she remains the highest in rating in the field; the Elo tax that has constrained her every week constrains her again. Jonathan takes the largest because he voted correctly at two tribals on the same night from the middle of the field.

Quick Hits

Joe takes over the active lead in season change. With Ozzy's elimination, the +100 club sits empty. Joe's +83.8 is the new ceiling among active players, ahead of Rizo's +78.3 and Aubry's +75.2. Three of the top four active season changes belong to players who entered the season unranked or low in rating.

Rick's idol play does not register in SHALLOW. The Hidden Idol nullified the votes against him at the first tribal; the model sees only the final vote. Rick still gets credit as a correct voter on Emily and full outlast credit, finishing the night at +9.1. Idols, like the coin flip immunity from last week, are invisible to the rating except through their effect on who survives.

Ozzy's unplayed idol does not register either. Ozzy carried a Hidden Idol to the second tribal and did not play it. The model sees no idol event; he registers as a four-vote boot at -27.3 SHALLOW and exits with the same season trajectory whether the idol came out or not. Last week's recap noted that the model cannot see narrative; an unplayed idol is a clean example.

Two simultaneous tribals dampened both boot losses. Emily's -32.3 and Ozzy's -27.3 sit among the smaller boot losses of the season; Ozzy's -27.3 is the second-smallest boot loss in US50, behind Colby's -25.1 in Episode 6. Splitting the field across two tribals limits each boot's matchup losses to four opponents instead of eight or nine. The largest single-episode SHALLOW loss of the season remains Dee's -107.3 in Episode 7.

Four of seven active players still have zero wrong US50 votes. Cirie 18W-0L, Joe 15W-0L, Rizo 15W-0L, and Aubry 13W-0L. Jonathan, Rick, and Tiffany are the three exceptions; all three voted correctly at every tribal they attended this episode.

BEAST Update

Jonathan was awarded immunity after Tiffany's win was reviewed and overturned. The challenge data records Jonathan as the winner with an 8-0 line; the model has no concept of a result review. His +50.2 is the largest BEAST swing on a single challenge in his career. Emily's +59.5, earned by finishing second from nearly 150 points below the field, is now the largest BEAST swing on a single challenge in US50 this season, ahead of Tiffany's +55.5 from Episode 10 and Jonathan's +50.2 tonight.

Player Pre-Ep11 BEAST Post-Ep11 BEAST Ep11 Change Finish
Jonathan 1515.4 1565.7 +50.2 1st
Emily 1367.8 1427.3 +59.5 2nd
Joe 1682.8 1680.7 -2.1 3rd
Ozzy 1651.1 1639.1 -12.0 4th
Rizo 1304.4 1331.0 +26.6 5th
Tiffany 1574.2 1545.3 -28.9 6th
Rick 1419.4 1401.0 -18.5 7th
Aubry 1462.4 1423.1 -39.3 8th
Cirie 1347.6 1312.1 -35.5 9th

Emily gained more BEAST than Jonathan despite finishing second; she entered the challenge nearly 150 points lower in rating, and seven wins against a stronger field paid more than Jonathan's expected dominance. Joe finished third and lost 2.1 BEAST. His rating predicted a win; finishing third against that expectation cost him.

Cirie finished last with an 0-8 record and lost 35.5 BEAST. Her S-tier SHALLOW (1751.0) sits 439 points above her F-tier BEAST (1312.1). The gap between her two ratings is the widest of any active US50 player. The model that has her as the season's strategic protagonist also has her as the season's worst challenge performer.

Tiffany gives back some of last week's win. Her -28.9 in a sixth-place finish leaves her at 1545.3, still A-tier, still third among active players in BEAST behind Joe and Jonathan.

Compare: Jonathan Then and Now

Jonathan entered US50 at 1594.6 SHALLOW with a vote record from earlier appearances that included more wrong votes than right. He spent the pre-merge in low A territory. Four consecutive tribals of correct voting since the Episode 8 double boot have moved his SHALLOW from 1561.3 (post-Episode 8) to 1614.2 (post-Episode 11), and his BEAST from 1480.4 to 1565.7.

Post-Episode 8 Post-Episode 11 Change
SHALLOW 1561.3 (B) 1614.2 (A) +52.9
BEAST 1480.4 (C) 1565.7 (A) +85.3
US50 Votes 2W-22L 10W-24L +8 correct

Three episodes ago Jonathan was the lowest in active SHALLOW rating not named Tiffany. Tonight he wore individual immunity to two tribal councils and registered the largest SHALLOW gain in the field. The 24 wrong votes on his US50 record came from a pre-merge tribe that lost almost every council; the model's expectation for him is shaped largely by that history. Each correct post-merge vote is doing more work than it would for a player rated higher. The trajectory is steep enough that another tribal or two like this one would put him in the same tier as Joe and Rizo.
